Some examples of tours we run include:
Waterfalls – Visit the legendary 27 Charcos (Waterfalls) of Damajagua, Puerto Plata. Our tours visit this area as well as some of the smaller, lesser known waterfalls. The countryside is covered with them and they are all beautiful.
Cathedrals – There are many beautiful Roman Catholic cathedrals such as the Basílica Cathedral of Santa María la Menor, the Basílica Catedral Nuestra Señora de la Altagracia, and the Santa Ana Cathedral.
Churches – Just as beautiful as the cathedrals are the churches found across the country. The architecture is truly awe-inspiring.
City Tours – Most of the major cities such as Punta Cana, Santo Domingo, and Puerto Plata have enough sights to see to make a day trip out of it. See more of the island than you would normally be able to by booking a tour of a near-by city.
Shopping – Many visitors enjoy exploring the local markets for souvenirs unique to the Dominican Republic. Not only are there many upscale outdoor markets, there are also many popular shopping centers in the bigger cities with enough variety for everybody.
Ocean World Adventure Park, Marina and Casino – Just outside Puerto Plata, Ocean World has something for everybody. Besides the marine park, marina, and casino, the large entertainment complex has many restaurants, bars, and even a theater with a live dance show and a disco-lounge for the more adventurous.
Kitesurfing – Cabarete, near Puerto Plata, is famous for their Kitesurfing and Kiteboarding. All skill levels are welcome to try it with lessons available. If you aren’t brave enough to try it yourself, the beautiful beach offers a great view of the locals that come surf here daily.
Fishing – Want to catch a monster fish? There are many that can be found just off the coast of the island. The Puerto Plata area is home to some excellent marlin, mahi-mahi, and sailfish fishing.
Diving – The DR, being an island, has tons of water activities to try. The crystal clear water and interesting tropical fish make for great scuba diving as well as snorkeling.
Cigar Factories – The Dominican is home to the largest cigar factory in the world, located in La Romana. There are many factories located around the island that produce over 50 premium brands. Inquire with us about which is closest to you.
Tobacco Plantations – The reason there is so many high end cigar brands in the country is the high quality tobacco that they grow here. Visit Yaque Valley near Santiago where arguably the best tobacco in the country is grown or one of the many other plantations.
Coffee Plantations – Plantations can be found up in the mountain ranges, such as the Spirit Mountain Organic Coffee Plantation. If you are a coffee lover you absolutely need to try some beans that have been roasted fresh.
Cocoa Plantations – Another plant that is grown and harvested in the DR is the cocoa plant. Visit plantations such as the El Sendero del Cacao and try some fresh organic chocolate!
Columbus – Did you know Christopher Columbus landed in the Dominican Republic in 1492? The country’s capital, Santo Domingo, became the first permanent European settlement in North America.
Rum Factories – The DR and Haiti are known for making some of the best rum in the world. Local brands include Ron Barcelo, Ron Bermudez, Ron Atlantico, Ron Matusalem, and Ron Brugal.
